A short mid-morning post

As I've been sitting here drinking my coffee, considering driving to work soon, I read the news about Japan and the massive wave hurtling toward the West Coast of the United States.  My heart goes out to the people who are affected.  That said, I'm struck by the fact that I'm currently 40K+ words into a novel that starts out with a big wave taking out most of the West Coast of the United States.  Nobody in their right minds would think that a guy writing about something could make it happen, but...it might make an interesting storyline.  Inkheart was based on a similarly nutty theme, and it was quite good.  Just sayin'.  Now back to the regularly-scheduled disaster coverage....
